Tracked excavator digging mounds on Pocosin Lakes NWR. The operator was very skilled, and could do two rows of mounds on each side of the vehicle at a rate of about one mound per 8 to 10 seconds. The excavator was equipped to incorporate fertilizer during the mounding operation. Equipment and operator were kindly provided by Mr. Bill Barber, District Forester, Weyerhaeuser Corp.
